The future of identity politics, and thus the moral and political mission of the left, is predicated on its capacity to organize people who are not white men.
Linda Hirshman, The Nation
California Senator, Kamala Harris, is the latest darling-du-jour of the radical Left. Democrats want you to know that if you like Barack Obama, you will love Kamala Harris. And just like Barack Obama, Kamala’s primary calling card is having one parent with African DNA. She is the cover girl of identity politics–but don’t let “the best looking attorney general in the country” fool you. She is just another progressive politician whose radical values are typical of a political opportunist in pursuit of power and privilege. Kamala leans whichever direction the Left needs her to, while she relies on identity politics to pave her way and provide her cover from criticism. Identity politics leaves Democrats addicted to bloc voting,” Daniel Greenfield recently explained. “Working class whites are too ‘stupid’ to know what’s in their best interests. White women betrayed the cause by not voting for Hillary. Latino voters are still a little too politically erratic. But can the Democrats just run an infinite array of Obama clones?”
Greenfield says, “Send in the clones.”
An Affair to Remember
California Democrats elected former California Attorney General Kamala Harris in 2016 to the U.S. Senate seat held far too long by Barbara Boxer–a senator best known for naming March as “Women’s History Month.” In honor of this month, Kamala’s history is relevant. In 2003, when Harris was running for San Francisco District Attorney, opponents tried to hang her former boyfriend, Willie Brown, around her neck. “Harris met Brown in 1994 when he was speaker of the state Assembly. She was 29, he was 60,” SF Weekly reported. “Their May/December affair was the talk of the town during the year before Brown’s successful 1995 bid to become mayor.”
“Harris’ big break in her political career came after dating Willie Brown, a powerful former California Assembly speaker and mayor of San Francisco,” Breitbart reported. “She became the District Attorney of San Francisco before running and narrowly winning the race for state attorney general in 2010 in an election that was possibly tainted by voter fraud and wasn’t decided until nearly three weeks later. After she became the state AG, her eventual ascension was mapped out. She was to become the next senator from California after the retirement of Barbara Boxer.”
Her affair with a married man is something morally bankrupt feminists will have no problem justifying, but her tenure as California’s Attorney General is another affair to remember.
Progressive Obfuscation and Gun Confiscation
Like Obama’s DOJ, Harris weaponized the California Attorney general’s office and used it to punish her political enemies and protect her political friends.
Following the mortgage crisis and housing bubble, Harris refused to prosecute the mortgage fraudsters in California when she had the chance proving that Obama’s $26 billion foreclosure fraud fix was just a settlement for big banks.
Kamala Harris sponsored an asset forfeiture bill as recently as 2015. Asset forfeiture is the barbaric practice where cops are allowed to steal money, property and possessions from American citizens, who haven’t even been charged with a crime.
As California’s Attorney General, Kamala demanded that non-profit Americans For Prosperity hand over its list of members and supporters. After trying to silence Americans For Prosperity through fear and intimidation tactics with a lawsuit demanding AFP’s donors list, a US District Court ruled her demands to be unconstitutional. Donors to organizations should be free to support causes they believe in without fear of retaliation, harassment, or intimidation by powerful government figures. The Court’s ruling confirmed that AG Harris had no right to police the beliefs of individual Americans or causes they choose to support.
“Attorney General Harris ordered the arrest of Albert Sheakalee and seized 541 firearms in a highly publicized sting in 2015. According to a press release from then-Attorney General Kamala Harris, Shekalee was arrested “due to a prior mental health hold,” which prohibited him from owning firearms and allegedly landed him in the state’s Armed Prohibited Persons System (APPS) database.
But the state never filed any charges. After receiving national media attention—including a press conference displaying all 541 guns—the case never moved forward.
Perhaps the state decided not to file charges when they realized Sheakalee had no criminal record, legally owned all his firearms, owned a retirement home, and was the retired budget director of Fresno Community Hospital.”
“As far as I am concerned, it was a real political deal,” Sheakalee’s attorney, Mark Coleman, told the Fresno Bee. “(California Attorney General Kamala) Harris was running for senator.”
And who could forget the Undercover videos which surfaced in 2015 showing Planned Parenthood officials openly discussing buying and selling the body parts and organs from aborted babies for research. Rather than opening an investigation into Planned Parenthood for trafficking human body parts, then-Attorney General Kamala Harris filed charges against the undercover investigators, David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress. Harris ordered Daleiden’s home to be raided, and using 11 agents, confiscated video research and evidence, in an attempt to prevent millions of people from seeing what actually goes on inside Planned Parenthood.
In an editorial, even the Los Angeles Times noted: “Never in the history of California has anyone been charged with a crime for an undercover investigation. There was a recent similar case of animal abuse being outed by undercover videos. No charges were brought in that case.”
Progressive Obstruction
Senator Kamala Harris defended Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, announcing her support of Schaaf’s decision to warn illegal aliens of a sweep by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents last month. Immediately following Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ visit to California and his address on state officials’ ignoring the nation’s immigration laws, Harris appeared on MSNBC Wednesday night claiming that California is the future on immigration policy. “This Administration and Jeff Sessions in particular have clearly put a target on the back of California and California’s going to fight,” Harris said. “And, I think that these folks are really mired in rolling back the clock in time and that’s not going to happen. California represents the future.”
According to the census and other reports, hypodermic needles, homelessness and hepatitis is our future…unless you’re Kamala Harris.
Progressive Privilege
“California’s top Senate candidate Kamala Harris has been using her campaign account to fund stays in upscale hotels and first-class airfares during her nearly five-year tenure as state attorney general,” The Hillreported in December 2015.
“California campaign finance records revealed that Harris’s expenditures follow a pattern: The Democratic candidate regularly charges thousands of dollars in luxury travel and hotels to her campaign.”
The Hill’s investigation reveals that these expenditure patterns are consistent from January 2011 through the present.
In a standard trip, for example, Harris billed her campaign $2,482.70 in January 2013 for Delta Airlines “airfare for candidate from Washington D.C./campaign events/Presidential Inauguration,” according to state records.
On that same trip Harris stayed in D.C.’s upscale St. Regis hotel, billing her campaign $3,434.74 for a four-night stay, a nightly rate of $858.69.
The next month, Harris charged $2,381.70 for “airfare for candidate to New Orleans/campaign event, issues.” Later, she stayed in the St. Regis in D.C. ($823.67), The Beverly Hilton ($1,722.59) and The London NYC hotel ($1,093.20).
“She treats the campaign like a personal checking account to fund a lifestyle she aspires to,” the former aide added.
Another ex-aide said that “Kamala demands a life of luxury.”
According to a tweet from Kamala, she admits that President Obama and her progressive colleagues did nothing to help the black community:
“Until we confront the truth that racial inequality is real in America, we will never make progress. A study released last week reported there has been no progress for Black Americans on homeownership, unemployment, and incarceration in 50 years. We simply cannot accept this.”
